Dianne Frye Dow

"People don’t care what you know until they know that you care.” This has been my philosophy of teaching since I began my career in 1984. Teaching is a calling—a mixture of skill and art. As I care about my students and make meeting their needs my highest priority, I’m able to provide guidance, support and encouragement as we work together toward achieving their goals. A teacher must be competent and knowledgeable, but even more importantly, teachers must have the heart to care and to teach! This makes all the difference!

DOW TUTORIAL SERVICE

Corporate Clients: I have developed and taught group and individualized courses ranging from 20-40+ hours for international employees desiring to improve their pronunciation and communication skills, both verbal and written. My main corporate clients have been Caterpillar, Inc. and Komatsu. In addition, in 2003 I began providing soft skills training for both American and international employees at Caterpillar, Inc. and RLI focusing on business-related topics such as presentation skills, effective interpersonal communication, listening skills, conflict management, assertiveness, and effective management and handling of meetings.


Private Clients: I have developed and taught a variety of individualized learning programs for the spouses of corporate employees as well as for other adults in the international community, ranging from beginning through advanced proficiency levels. In addition, I’ve provided ESL tutoring and homework assistance for pre-teens / teens (Grades 7-12).
